Cameron Todd Willingham – Death Row Texas – December 9, 2004 – Here is a heart wrenching story of Texas executing a man, who was found to be innocent after the execution. Please pass this on to everyone you know. Prosecutors went with innuendo rather than facts. This is so common in the injustice system. I could go on and on but...see for yourself. Of course, I'll get this story posted on our website for surfers to find. Sherry Swiney Update: New findings cast doubt on Ardmore man's guilt
Luis Ramirez – Death Row Texas – Sepember 20, 2003 – My name is Luis Ramirez. In 1998 I was wrongfully convicted of the capital murder ( remuneration) of a San Angelo , Texas fireman. In laymens terms " remuneration" in a capital case means, "murder for hire." This fireman was a complete stranger to me. I had no motive, or money to have him or anyone killed. The states case against me can be described as "weak" at best. They have absolutely no tangible evidence to support this conviction. ZERO.. There is no DNA evidence, no physical evidence, no scientific evidence, no eye witnesses, not even a murder weapon. The state and the jury relied completely on the "hearsay" testimony of a PAID informant. This informant was known to the local police as a drug/informant. He is a self described "daily" drug abuser. He is also a stranger to me..He could not identify me in the court room, even though I was sitting in front of him. More...

Benny Saylor – Indiana – May 26, 2003 – The case evidence section on this web site will really give you an idea at the unfairness of Benny's trial, and that the true murderer is walking the streets. This person was never made to give any DNA sample. Benny is also on Death Row by Judge Override. The jury voted against it. Thank you for any interest or help that you can give Benny.
Rick Halperin – Arrested for fight for Human Rights: 7 Protesters Arrested at US Supreme Court – January 19, 2002
Jeffrey Havard – Mississippi Death Row – Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be stuck in a small room 24 hours a day while waiting to be executed for a crime you did not commit?! Well that is what this story is about. There is a man that is sitting on Death Row, at Parchman, Mississippi who is only 24 years old and only because the state refused to do their job (fully investigate) and serve justice. This story dates back to February 21, 2002.
Amos King– Florida Death Row – Execution date January 24, 2002
Stay of execution granted

John Alba – Death Row, Texas– I am writing on behalf of my friend, John Alba, a Mexican–American man on death row at the Polunsky unit in Livingston, Texas. He is a good and kind man who is appealing against the death penalty, and is in desperate need of help. He has been on death row for ten years for the shooting of his wife. No one condones this crime, but there were many mitigating circumstances that have never been heard in front of a jury, and so all we are asking for is a chance to open your eyes and hopefully your heart to the situation he is in. His trial has been full of ineffective representation and racial prejudice, and now he needs the support of people like you to help him and his family.
Michael Taylor – Alabama Death Row – Hello. My name is Michael Taylor. I am 30 years old. I have been on death row since 1993. I have written a couple of articles which I hope will give you a better idea of what its line to be on death row. I enjoy writing, sports movies, reading and writing poetry. I am looking for someone with many of the same interests. Most people take mail and letters for granted but you have no idea what it means to receive letters and get to meet someone new. I hope you will take a chance.

Jay D. Scott: Tearing the fabric of life yet again – Ohio – April 17, 2001 Whenever any American's life is taken by another American unnecessarily – whether it is done in the name of the law or in the defiance of the law, by one man or a gang, in cold blood or in passion, in an attack of violence or in response to violence – whenever we tear at the fabric of the life which another man has painfully and clumsily woven for himself and his children, the whole nation is degraded.

T. Scott Cothren – Death Row – Alabama My name is T. Scott Cothren. I am a 26 year old Alabama death row inmate. I've been incarcerated since December 19, 1992...the day before my 20th birthday. In these past six years I've learned much about the so–called "Wheels of Justice." I would like to take this opportunity to pass along one of the ideas I've had, but no forum with which to convey them. I hope you find this thorough and informative.
George McFarland – Death Row Texas. George was on trial for a 1991 grocery store robbery/murder. The only reason he was arrested was because a single witness, who changed her testimony FOUR times, said he fitted the description of the perpetrator. There was no physical evidence against him, no finger prints or anything else.

Attorney General John Ashcroft has directed federal prosecutors in New York and Connecticut to seek the death penalty in a dozen cases in which they had recommended lesser sentences. Mr. Ashcroft's orders are a triumph of ideology over good prosecutorial practice. The Bush administration should reconsider them.

The Moratorium Campaign – Terrorist Attacks Affirm Need for a Paradigm Shift
by Sister Helen Prejean, csj – September 17, 2001 I'm on a U.S. Airways plane – half – filled – on my way back to New Orleans after a week of cancelled speaking engagements. I've seen American flags everywhere – in shops, on people's suitcases, on the lapels of pilots and flight attendants. Everybody's been glued to the T.V. looking in disbelief at the sight of our own planes crashing into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Everybody's swapping stories of the horrors: a couple, holding hands, jumping to their deaths from 80 stories up; the man on one of the high jacked planes calling his wife on his cell phone, "We took a vote, we're going to overpower them, goodbye, I love you." Anti–Death Penalty Organization
Myself and some friends have started a non–profit organization to protest the death penalty and living conditions on death row. We really need help with letter writing and doing research to make a data base of all the death row prisons, addresses for wardens, state officials and so on. If you can spare some time each month to help us out with this great cause then please e–mail me at so we can get the ball rolling!
Clergy Coalition to End Executions The Death Penalty is a Hate Crime! The staff at the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches have been quite gracious in helping us communicate this very important message to urgent request as the United Nations Commission on Human Rights continues to address the horrendous and horrifying hate crime of capital punishment. We are writing to ask for your prayers and to encourage you to sign a petition calling for a Moratorium on executions.

Oklahoma's Death Row – H–Unit, Oklahoma State Penitentiary – McAlester, Oklahoma
The wrong men on Death Row – U.S. News & World Report November 9, 1998 A growing number of bad convictions challenges the death penalty's fairness. Gary Gauger's voice was flat when he called 911 to report finding his father in a pool of blood. Police arrived at the Illinois farmhouse Gauger shared with his parents and discovered that his mother was dead, too. The 40–year–old son, a quirky ex–hippie organic farmer, became a murder suspect. After all, someone had slashed Ruth and Morrie Gauger's throats just 30 feet from where Gary slept. There were no signs of a struggle or robbery. But what most bothered the cops was the son's reaction: He quietly tended to his tomato plants as they investigated. Eventually, Gauger was sentenced to die by lethal injection–until it became clear police had the wrong guy. His case is not unusual.
